Welcome

Forensic Psychological Services (FPS) was established in 2004 with the vision of creating a forensic practice that attends to the treatment, risk management and healing of individuals who have been in conflict with the law.

FPS is comprised of a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, therapists, community integration managers and traditional Aboriginal helpers/healers with expertise in the provision of services to forensic populations. We focus on addressing the needs of adults and youth through the implementation of empirically based treatments and the development of a therapeutic community for our clients.

FPS provides assessment, treatment, support and consultation services for individuals who have engaged in a broad range of criminal behaviours. We provide services in both institutional and community settings and specialize in attending to the risk management needs of high risk/high needs offender groups.

Our primary client base consists of individuals who have engaged in violent and sexual offending behaviour and individuals with chronic histories of antisocial behaviour and long term involvement in the criminal justice system. We serve a culturally diverse group of clients and, in particular, are proficient in the provision of services to Aboriginal clients. We also have experience and expertise in providing clinical services to juvenile and female offenders as well as to special need populations, such as intellectually impaired and mentally disordered offenders.
